Dorothy Taylor

Dorothy Pearl Taylor, age 88, was called home to God on Monday, April 19, 2010 in Seward, NE. She was born to George and Loretta Garhart on November 27, 1921 in Neligh, NE. Dorothy was married to Max Taylor on November 25, 1938. This union was blessed with five children.

Dorothy is survived by her children, Edward and Margaret Taylor of Ulysses, NE, Edwin (and the late Gayla) Taylor of York, NE, Loretta (and the late Leo Walker) of Michigan, Donald Sr. and Sharon Taylor of York, NE, and Thomas Sr. and Donna Scheil of York. Also surviving are 21 grandchildren and a large number of great and great great grandchildren. Surviving also are five sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Max, two brothers, Albert and Mike, four sisters, Ruby, Alice, Grace and Bertha, two grandchildren, Lisa Marie Walker and Thomas Lee Adam Scheil Jr.

Dorothy was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a strong believer in God and was a loyal member of the Church of the Nazarene for over 30 years with only age and poor health keeping her away for the past few years. Dorothy was a strong woman who was loved by all and will be missed by many. We love you Mom/Grandma. We know God is always at your side.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, April 22, 2010 at the Metz Chapel in York with the Reverend Stephen Sheets officiating. Burial was in York’s Greenwood Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family.
