Ronald Swett

Ron Swett, age 52, of York, NE, died Saturday, November 6, 2010 at York. He was born on January 14, 1958 at Seward, NE to Dean and Ileen (Liermann) Swett. Ron graduated from York High School in 1976, then graduated from Southeast Community College in Milford, NE with an Associates Degree in Electronics Technology in 1978. His first electronics job was in Colorado, where he lived for 20 years. From there he went to Hawaii for a number of years. He returned to Colorado in 2005, then to York in 2006.

Ron loved the Rocky Mountains, his cat, and spending time with family and friends. He had a genuine interest in people of all ages, and could talk his way into or out of about anything.

He is survived by his mother Ileen Swett of York; brother Dave (Lora) Swett of Omaha; sisters, Susan (Dan) Pavlish of Crete, NE and Carol (David) Alexander of York. Also surviving are nephews, Casey (Kristen) Swett of Palmyra, NE, Bill Swett of Omaha, Kyle Estes of Omaha, Klinton Estes of Lincoln and Patrick Alexander of Lincoln; niece Jasmine Mayo of York; one great nephew, two great-nieces; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Preceding him in death were his grandparents, Walter and Mable Swett, and Ben and Ida Liermann; father Dean Swett; infant sister Karen Swett; brother-in-law Cory Millard; and his beloved cat Max.

Memorial services were held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, November 13, 2010 at the Metz Chapel in York. Memorials may be directed to Blue Valley Mental Health or York Adopt-a-Pet Cat Sanctuary.
