Louise Swan
Louise Epp Swan, daughter of Jacob M. and Marie Peters Epp was born on the family farm near Henderson, NE on September 8, 1912. She passed away on March 28, 2006 at the Henderson Care Center, having attained the age of 93. She was the middle child of seven children. She was baptized upon confession of her faith in her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on May 10, 1931 by the Rev. John F. Epp at the Bethesda Church where she remained a faithful member until her death. On June 3, 1931 she was married to Albert A. Buller. Their marriage was blessed with five children, sons Don, Lee, Dale,Glen and daughter Donna. Albert passed away in March 1951. She continued on the farm and with the help of her sons, raised her family there. She later married Harold Trautman. This union was blessed with one son Leroy. She married Arthur Swan on March 26, 1976. He passed away in 1983. Louise worked for many years at the hospital as a cook and at the nursing home as a nurse’s aid. She always enjoyed working. She also had a sense of humor even in her older years. After her retirement she spent 3 months in voluntary service at Akron, PA, which she thoroughly enjoyed. Louise spent many hours making quilts, crocheting doilies, table cloths and bed spreads for her family and grandchildren as Christmas gifts and wedding gifts. In later years she donated some of these items to the M.C.C. sale. She enjoyed cooking and her children and grandchildren will always remember her good food, vereneka among others. She spent her last years at Rosewood Ct. and Care Center where she appreciated all the good care she received.
She was preceded in death by her husbands Albert Buller and Art Swan, her son, Albert Lee, her parents, parents-in-law, two sisters, Emma and Minnie and three brothers, Willard, Robert and Herman.
Remaining to cherish her memory are her children Don and Shirley Buller, Berdine Buller, Dale and JoAnne Buller, Donna and Randy Ratzlaff all of Henderson, Glen and Carolyn Buller of Fremont, CA, Leroy and Connie Trautman of Hastings, NE. Grandchildren and great-grandchildren are Teresa and Dale Regier and Jordan of Abbotsford, B.C.; Carlin of Denver; Jonathan of Hillsboro, KS; Libby and Scott Brettmman, Shelby, Jameson and Jackson of Fremont, NE; Karen and Mark Dick, MacKenzie and Mikaelyn of Henderson; Brent and Rebecca Buller, Greg, Crista and Matthew of Henderson; Ron and Penny Buller, Kara and Sondra of Aurora; Gary and Jennifer Buller, Aaron and Kaelyn of Sutton; Marcy and Ken Vanderhart, Brittany, Keaton and Chase of Topeka, KS; Brad and Kristy Buller, Tashia, Micah and Kobe of Syracuse, NE; Lance and Laurel Buller, Austin and Ashlyn of Phoenix, AZ; Kent and Dana Buller, Ryan, Kade and Dallas of Fremont, CA; Scott and Tina Buller, Haley and Hannah of Dallas, TX; Sue and Ladd Harrison and Emily of Gering, NE; Jana and Ryan Svoboda, Reilly, Taylinn and Ansley of Sidney, NE; Joni and Jay Stewart and Kaia of Blair, NE; Heather and Amber Trautman of Hastings. Also surviving is one sister, Jeanette Regier of Wichita, KS.
Public graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 3, 2006 at the Bethesda cemetery. Memorial services will then be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday at the Bethesda Mennonite Church in Henderson. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. Saturday at Metz Mortuary in Henderson.
