Gary Sullivan

Gary Sullivan, age 57, of Waco, NE, died Wednesday, October 26, 2011. He was born April 11, 1954 at Lincoln, NE to James and Dona (Von Minden) Sullivan. Gary was united in marriage to Sue Ehlers on October 30, 1976 at York.

Gary loved spending time with his parents, wife, siblings, children, and grandchildren. He was truly happiest when he was surrounded by his family. He loved attending his children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events. He spent hours teaching jump shots and lay-ups in the driveway. He even enjoyed a good game of living room football with his grandson. Autumn was his favorite time of year, the football, the harvest, and carving pumpkins with his grandkids. He admired, loved, and respected his parents with an indescribable passion. He strived to live a life in their footsteps.

Gary is survived by his father, Jim Sullivan, of Waco. His wife, Sue Sullivan, of Waco and his children Andrea and husband Trent Chrisman of Lincoln, Josh Sullivan of Martell and special friend, Becky Hurst, and Mackenzie Sullivan of San Luis Obispo, CA and special friend, Michael Chitwood. Brother Kevin (Brenda) Sullivan of Utica and Sister Kiley (Dan) MacLeod of San Luis Obispo, CA and six nieces and nephews. And two beloved grandchildren, Jace and Mya Chrisman. Also surviving are his mother-in-law Norma Ehlers of Waco and two sisters-in-law, Amy (Woody) Ziegler of Waco and Sharon Ehlers (Jerry) Sykes of Ceresco, NE.

Preceeded in death by his mother, Dona Sullivan. His father-in-law, Clyde Ehlers. His brother-in-law, Brad Ehlers. And his dear friend, Jack Eberspacher.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 29, 2011 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in York. Burial was at the Waco Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family for later designation.
