Rieny Stuhr

Reinhardt “Reiny” Fredrick Stuhr, age 97, of Waco, NE, died Thursday, December 1, 2011 at Seward, NE. He was born December 13, 1913 at Waco to Henry and Caroline (Schlechte) Stuhr. Reiny was united in marriage to Ella Wellman on December 20, 1936 in Waco.

Reiny was a lifelong resident of York County. He and Ella made their home and farmed near Waco until he retired at age 65. He was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Waco, enjoyed building things, farming the soil, and spending time with his family. Reiny was previously a member and officer of the Federal Land Bank, Waco School Board, Waco Elevator Board, and was an elder at Peace Lutheran Church.

Reiny is survived by his wife Ella of Waco; sons: Roger Stuhr, San Diego, CA and his daughters Tiffany Geis, Lincoln, NE and Carri Stuhr, Minneapolis, MN; Ronald Stuhr and wife Alice, and her son Matt, Topeka, KS; Kenneth and wife Jan Stuhr, Waco and their children Autumn Reeves, Auburn, NE, Scott Stuhr of Utica, NE and Travis Stuhr of Waco; the Reverend Lloyd Stuhr and wife Twila, Plattsmouth, NE and their daughters Angie Hoernemann, Chaska, MN and Megan Stuhr of Omaha, NE.

Preceding him in death were his parents, siblings and their spouses: Elizabeth and Cletis Roth, Louis and Minie Stuhr, Albert and Nora Stuhr, John and Edna Stuhr, Caroline and Arlin Haggerman, Dora and Curtis Bristol, Evelyn and Rupert Bristol, two infant siblings, sister-in-law Esther Wellman and daughter-in-law Linda GroshansStuhr.

Services were held at 10:00 am, Monday, December 5, 2011 at the Peace Lutheran Church in Waco. Burial followed in the Waco Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family for later designation.
