June Stuhr
June Stuhr age 84 of Waco, NE was called by her Heavenly Father on Friday July 15, 2011 at Lincoln, NE.
She was born January 4, 1927 at Waco, NE to Herman and Catherine (Tieken) Kruse. June was baptized on January 30, 1927 by the Reverend F. Wunderlich and confirmed on May 12, 1940 by the Reverend G. Koslowske. She was a nurse’s aide in York and had worked at the Waco Post Office having been proud to have lived in Waco her whole life. A longtime member of St John’s Lutheran Church she was active in the Ladies Aide, enjoyed quilting, baking, raising flowers and being with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
On February 1, 1948 she was married to Edgar C. Stuhr at St. John’s Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her son Hollis and his wife Karen Stuhr of Waco. Her grandchildren include; Michelle Stuhr and fiancé Lee Bowes of Lincoln, Jesse Stuhr and fiancé Patty Novak of Omaha, NE and Tasha Pfenning and her children Kamryn and Dalton all of Waverly, NE.
Also surviving is her sister Silvia Staehr of Lincoln and Flora Stuhr of York. Her brother-in-law Loren and his wife Mary Jean Stuhr of Rising City, NE and her sister-in-law Edna Kruse of Iowa and several half brothers-in-law and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sons Charles and Timothy, her brother Harley Kruse, and brother-in-law Ralph Stuhr.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m., Monday at St. John’s Lutheran Church south of Waco with the Reverend Paul T. Kern officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the church or to the family.
