Clarence Struebing
Clarence Carl Struebing was the son of Martin and Olga (de LaMotte) Struebing, born on April 9th, 1936, near Surprise, NE. He was brought into the family of God, through the sacrament of Holy Baptism, on May 3rd, 1936, at St. John's Lutheran Church of Surprise, Nebraska.
Clarence was Confirmed into the body of believers on June 5th, 1949, in Zion Lutheran Church at Garrison, Nebraska. He entered Holy Matrimony with Dagmar Richert at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, in Gresham, Nebraska, on October 19th, 1958. God blessed them with three adopted children, Joan, Jim, and Brenda.
Clarence was a farmer all his life, until his retirement in 2004. He also was a member of the United States Army from 1955-1958. Clarence was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Gresham, and is currently a member of Bethel Lutheran Church in York.
God called him to his eternal rest, at the age of 72 years, on June 9th, 2008. His body will be laid to rest, to await the great day of resurrection, at St. Paul's Cemetery in Gresham, Nebraska.
Clarence is survived by his wife, Dagmar of Ulysses, by his three children, son Jim of Niobrara, NE, daughter and son in law Joan and Richard Owen Jr. of Waco, and daughter and son in law Brenda and Bill Read also of Waco, and by his grandchildren Richard III, Olivia, Melissa, Julia Owen, Noah, and Samuel Read.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert, and his parents, Martin and Olga.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 13, 2008 at the Bethel Lutheran Church in York with the Reverend David Schultze officiating. Interment was at 2:30 p.m. Friday at St. Paul’s Cemetery, Gresham, NE. Memorials may be directed to the church, Trinity Grade School or Nebraska Lutheran High School.
