Mary Stowe

Mary F. Stowe, age 84, of Seattle, WA, died Thursday, November 26, 2009 in Seattle. She was born August 16, 1925 at Pekin, IL to Frank and Alice (Kaliff) Stowe. Mary joined the Seattle Police Force in 1952 and remained there for 46 years. When Mary, retired on April 1, 1998, she had risen to the rank of lieutenant. She was affiliated with the International Association of Women Police and attended their international conference in Seattle this past September where she was honored with a life membership. Mary traveled the world to link with other police departments including England, China, Russia and Mexico.

Local survivors include cousins Charles Kaliff, Jim Kaliff and Shirley Holt all of York and Bill Kaliff of Grand Island, NE. Mary is also survived by numerous other cousins. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Alice Stowe and her brother, Jack Stowe.

Graveside services were held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, December 7, 2009 at the McCool Cemetery, McCool Jct., NE. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
