Gertrude Stone

Gertrude V. Stone age 97 of Harlingen, TX formerly a lifelong resident of McCool Jct, NE died Tuesday, January 29, 2008 at Harlingen. She was born August 8, 1910 in rural York County, NE to John and Ethel M. (Holoch) Williams. Gertrude was a member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in McCool Jct and was a member of the First Lutheran Church Quilters and the 3 L Extension Club as well. On October 10, 1934 she was married to Leonard L. Stone at Seward, NE.

She is survived by her daughter Delores and her husband Ed Hein of Ft Isabelle, TX. Two grandchildren, five Great Grandchildren and one great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, February 4, 2008 at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in McCool Jct with the Reverend Jennifer Zahnow officiating. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery in York. Memorials may be directed to the church or to the donor’s choice.
