Hazel Stith

Hazel Mildred Stith age 94 of Houston, TX, died Wednesday, October 19, 2005 at Houston. She was born October 26, 1910 at McCool Jct., NE. to Lewis & Myrtle (Cudaback) Barker. Hazel was raised in McCool Jct.and taught school there from 1928-1931. She married and farmed in the McCool Jct. and Fairmont area before moving to Lincoln where she and her husband formed Stith’s Realty. They retired to Fairmont and then to Lincoln. She is survived by her loving son, Carel Lewis Stith and his wife Bonnie of Houston, grandsons Matthew Carel Stith of Omaha, Christopher John Stith and his wife Dina, great-grandsons, Kendall, Brendan, Cameron and Ethan Stith all of Houston, grandson, Josh Hellums and his wife Deborah of Killeen, TX., granddaughter, Gretchen Ferreira and her husband Steve, and great-granddaughter, Sophie Ferreira all of Medford Oregon. Also surviving are one brother, Ronald (Bud) Barker and his wife Betty of Yucaipa, CA., sister Evelyn Real of Fairmont, nephews Richard (Dick) Barker, Lewis (Buddy) Barker, Bob Real, Galen Real, Ron Real, niece Barbara Fuller and aunt, Verna Schlondorf. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Carel Luther Stith. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 29, 2005 at the Metz Chapel. Interment will be at the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, McCool Jct. Visitation will be with the family Friday evening from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests any remembrances in Hazel’s name be sent to Houston Hospice, 1905 Holcombe Blvd, Houston, TX., 77030.
