Russell Sternberg

Russell L. Sternberg age 45 of Osceola, NE died Friday, October 23, 2009 at Osceola. He was born November 12, 1963 at Seward, NE to Leroy and Carol (Finke) Sternberg and was a member of St John’s Lutheran Church at Cordova, NE. He obtained his Associates degree in Machine Tool Technology from Southeast Community College and was a truck driver for Wahoo Livestock Carriers near Westin, NE. Russell enjoyed working on computers, driving, fishing and loved being around his family. On November 17, 1990 he was married to Sheila Wright at Cordova, NE.

He is survived by his wife Sheila of Osceola, two daughters, Aleishia Sternberg and Racheal Sternberg both of Osceola. His parents Leroy and Carol Sternberg of Cordova. His sister Sheila J. and her husband Robert Ellis of Omaha. His sisters-in-law include Trisha and her husband Tim Heerten of Tryon, NE and Linda Wright of grand Island, NE. His best friend Matt and his wife Nancy Lee of York and special friends Jim and Tracia Hawthorne of Shelby, NE. Many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30 am Wednesday, October 28, 2009 at St John’s Lutheran Church at Cordova with the Reverend Brian Tuma officiating. Burial will be in the Zastrow Cemetery east of Cordova. Visitation begins after 5:00 pm Monday evening with his family greeting friends Tuesday evening from 7:00 – 8:30 pm at the mortuary. Memorials may be directed to the family for later designation.
