Frances Spader

Frances Martha Spader, age 89, of York, NE, formerly of Waco, NE, died peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on Wednesday, January 30, 2008 at York. She was born October 12, 1918 in rural Waco to Albert and Marie (Schlechte) Stuhr. Frances was a 1936 graduate of Waco High School and went on to earn her nursing degree. She was united in marriage to Lester Spader on January 4, 1947 at Waco. She worked at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lincoln for three years and then worked 20 years at York General Hospital in York. After retiring, she devoted her life to taking care of her family. She was a lifetime member of the Peace Lutheran Church in Waco.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband Lester of York; children: Stuart (Karen) Spader of Waco, Kent (Corinna) Spader of York, Karen Spader of Lincoln, NE, Orville (Carlene) Stuhr of Waco and Leon (Dianne) Gray of Winona, MN; daughter-in-law Janelle Spader of Waco. Also surviving are 15 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister Florence Treakle of Waco; brother-in-law Clarence (Lucille) Spader of Ceresco, NE; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; son Raymond; brothers: Walter, Richard and Orville; sisters Edna Porath and Alice Maronde.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, February 4, 2008 at the Peace Lutheran Church in Waco with the Reverend Marvin Bergman officiating. Burial followed at the Waco Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family for later designation. The family wishes to extend their sincere appreciation to Tabitha Hospice for their kind and compassionate care.
