Donna Snider

Donna Marie Snider, age 77, of York, NE, passed away September 21, 2008 at the Queen of the Valley Medical Center in Napa, CA. She was born April 2, 1931 at Bradshaw, NE to George and Adelia (Salchow) Menssen. She attended school in Bradshaw. Donna was united in marriage to Earl Snider on May 30, 1950 at Clay Center, NE. Donna and Earl owned and operated the Snider Standard gas station in York for eight years. Donna baked and decorated cakes at the Grand Central Foods in York for eleven years. She loved to bake pies, cakes and cookies for her family and friends. She loved working with her flowers, and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and family.

Donna is survived by her three sons: Richard of Aurora, NE, Roger of York, and Rodney of Ravenna, NE; a sister Lavonne (George) Zweibel of Lincoln, NE; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Joann (Bob) Hoeft of Grafton, NE; brother-in-law Tom (Sandy) Snider of McCool Jct, NE; many nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister Norma, and three brothers, Duane, Marlin, and Eugene.

Memorial services were held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, October 3, 2008 at the New Heights Assembly of God Church, 1522 South Grant Ave., York, NE. Inurnment was in York’s Greenwood Cemetery. It was Donna’s wish to be cremated so there was no viewing or visitation. Memorials may be directed to the family.
