Darrell Sloan

Darrell Sloan age 84 of Carmichael, CA died March 12, 2008 at Carmichael. He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years Shirley Sloan and daughter Connie Steinman. He will be missed by his three daughters Beverly Sloan, Carol Koch (grandsons Patrick and Danny Koch), and Cathie and her family. He served in the U.S. Navy with the 9th Construction Battalion SeaBees. After working for the U.S. Geological Survey he retired after 30 years of service with the U.S. Army Corps. of Engineers. He was a Past Exalted Ruler of Carmichael Elks Lodge BPOE 2103. He graduated University of Nebraska at Lincoln in 1949 and was a Cornhusker 'til the end. There was a private family memorial held in California. Military Honors and inurnment was held at 10:00 a.m., Friday May 30, 2008 at the McCool Junction Cemetery in McCool Junction, NE. It was Mr. Sloan's wish to be cremated so there was no visitation. Memorials may be directed to the family.
