Jack Silvey

Andrew Jackson Silvey Jr. age 85 of York, NE died Wednesday, November 22, 2006 at Fairmont, NE. He was born January 27, 1921 in Nevada, Missouri to Andrew J. and Luella (Caton) Silvey. Jack worked as a laborer for a local farmer for many years and was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in York. He and his brother Harry came to York to Mother’s Jewels Home in 1923. He moved to the York Leisure Home in 1985 and then to the Fairview Manor in Fairmont in 2004. Jack enjoyed being around people and loved to visit.

He is survived by his special friends Ron and Elaine Battreall of Lushton, NE and many special downtown friends. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother Harry.

Funeral services were held Saturday, November 25, 2006 at the Metz Chapel in York with the Reverend Tim Marshall officiating. Burial was in York’s Greenwood Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Fairview Manor or the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in York.
