Earl Shipferling

Earl Dean Shipferling, age 66, of San Leon, TX passed away Monday, March 17, 2008 at San Leon following a lengthy illness. He was born June 10, 1941 in Fairmont, NE to George and Agnes Shipferling. He served in the U.S. Navy and was also a Commander of the American Legion Post # 291.

He is survived by his wife Kathi of San Leon; mother of his children, Bonnie Shipferling of Friendswood, TX; three sons, Scott (Dianne) Shipferling of St. Joseph, MO, Steve Shipfering of Friendswood and Stacy (Michelin) of Spring, TX; one step-daughter, Lisa Harner of Ohio; one step-son, Kenny Sheppard of Ohio; ten grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He also is survived by his sister Evelyn Abele of Lincoln, NE. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Alvera Tieken.

Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 22, 2008 at the Metz Chapel in York, NE. Military graveside services followed at the Vernon Cemetery, York, NE. Memorials may be directed to the family.
