Garland Senff

Garland C. “Gar” Senff, age 83 of Bradshaw, NE, died Friday September 16, 2005 at Bradshaw. He was born March 23, 1922 in rural Henderson, NE to Fredrich and Myrtle (Nelson) Senff. Following his graduation from Bradshaw High School in 1940, Garland joined the Navy where he served in WWII. He was married to Helen Duchek on April 17, 1948 at Wilber, NE. Garland was a longtime farmer in the Bradshaw area until his retirement. He is survived by his wife Helen of Bradshaw; daughters, Carol (Donald) Knop and Cheryl Senff both of Lincoln, NE, June (Tim) O’Meara of Tallahassee, Fl. and Joyce (Kelvin) Peterson of York; grandchildren, Corey and Kellie Knop and Ryan O’Meara: great-grandchild Riley Knop; sisters, Darlene Olson and Donna Able both of Denver, CO and a sister-in-law, Frances “Jeanne” Senff of York; sister-in-law Wanda (Jim) Frederick of St. Paul, NE and brother-in-law Marvin (Gwen) Nelson of Fairbury, NE and a host of other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Raymond, Kenneth and Fern William and two sisters, Mildred Wurst and Vernice Nelson.

Memorial services will be at 2:00pm Monday, September 19, 2005 at the Metz Chapel in York with the Rev. Tim Marshall officiating. Military graveside services at Greenwood Cemetery. No visitation. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions, in Gar’s name, be made to hospice.
