Carolyn Seigel

Carolyn C. Seigel, age 80, longtime York resident, died Saturday, January 29, 2005 at Osceola. She was born September 24, 1924 near Culbertson, NE to John Stratman and Christine Scheneman. Carolyn was a 1942 graduate of Culbertson High School and attended college at McCook. Carolyn was married in 1944 to James A. Gilbert and they had two sons, James and Douglas. She married John H. Seigel in August of 1969 at York. She was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in York, LWML, American Legion Auxiliary and the Navy Mothers. Carolyn is survived by her son Douglas and his wife Cheryl of Castle Rock, CO, six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, daughter-in-law Diane Gilbert of Columbus, brother Harold (Glenda) Stratman of Camp Verde, AZ, sister-in-law Theresa Stratman of Arvada, CO and stepson John (Jane) Siegel of McCool Jct. Preceding her in death were her parents, husband John, her son James, brothers Alfred and Raymond and stepdaughter Beverly.

Funeral services were held at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in York. Burial was in the Greenwood Cemetery at York. Memorials may be directed to the Good Samaritan Society at Osceola.
