Erma Schwartz

Erma E. Schwartz, age 92 of York, NE died Saturday, November 1, 2008 at York. She was born November 25, 1915 at York to Edward and Gertrude (Nelson) Stone. She was a graduate of York High School and took normal training and taught school for a few years. She married Dillard H. Schwartz on May 30, 1939. They lived at Polk until 1943 when they moved to the farm they bought at McCool Junction. They lived there on the farm until 1998 when they moved to the Mahoney House in York. Dillard passed away in 2002. In August 2007, she moved to the Hearthstone.

Survivors include her son Cleon and wife Audrey of McCool Junction, NE; four grandchildren: Clinton (Michele) of Fairmont, NE; Nadine (Calvin) Mead of Jefferson City, MO; Marlene Thompson of Tampa, FL; and LaVerna Schwartz of Omaha, NE; eight great grandchildren: Lindsay, Erika, Jarod, and Bryan Schwartz of Fairmont and Sawyer, Asher, Mykeltie, and River Mead of Jefferson City; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sons: Allan and Timothy, brothers: Leonard, Eldon, and Harlan Stone; and sister Estella Quick.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 11, 2008 at Metz Chapel, York. Burial followed in Greenwood Cemetery, York. Memorials may be directed to the family.
