Darrel A. Schachenmeyer

Darrel Arthur Schachenmeyer, age 71 of Waco, died Monday, July 9, 2007 at York. He was born September 2, 1935 in Lancaster County to Arthur J. and Palma (Gruber) Schachenmeyer. Darrel was married to Janelle Kuhnel on October 20, 1956 at St. Vincent’s at Osceola, NE. He was a farmer and worked many years for Stuhr Oil & Propane. He also had his own business, Waco Saw Shop. Darrel was a member of the NRA, loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter & fisherman. His greatest love was his family.

He is survived by his wife Janelle of Waco; children, Michael of Pahrump, NV, Suzanne (Greg) Walmer of Royal, NE, Neil (Brenda) Schachenmeyer of York and Linda (Craig) Eley of Lincoln, NE; grandchildren, Kate (Troy) Watson of Corpus Christi, TX, Amanda Kaufman of Lincoln, Samantha & Kyle & Brian & Paige Eley all of Lincoln, Jill Walmer of Royal, Cassy & Kelley Schachenmeyer of York, Jesse Walmer of Independence, MO, and Celeste Walmer of Lincoln. Also surviving is his sister Karen Jones of Brookings, OR. Preceding him in death were his parents and his brother.

Memorial services were held on Friday, July 13, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at the Metz Chapel in York. Private family inurnment. Memorials may be directed to the family.
