Genevieve Sack

Genevieve E. Sack age 96 of York, NE died Sunday, December 25, 2011 at York. She was born April 6, 1915 at Escanaba, MI to Edward W. and Charlotte C. (Bezner) Powers and graduated from Escanaba High School in 1933. She later attended Business College before joining Beins Rexall Drug in York where she was employed part time for over 21 years. Genevieve was a member of St Joseph’s Catholic Church in York. On August 14, 1948 she was married Glenn Sack at Temple City, CA, and moved back to Shelby, NE. Her greatest joy was spending a wonderful 51 plus years with her husband, Glenn.

She is survived by a nephew Charles Metcalf of Omaha and a niece Carla Mathison of Verona, WI. She was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband Glenn, her three brothers and three sisters.

Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at the Metz Chapel in York with the Reverend Monsignor James Reinert officiating. Burial was in Cedar Lawn Cemetery at Gresham, NE. Memorials may be directed to St Joseph’s Catholic Church in York.
