Michael A. Ryan, Sr.

Michael A. Ryan, Sr., age 46 of Waco, died Thursday, September 9, 2004 at York. He was born March 8, 1958 in York to Melvin & Ella (James) Ryan. Mike attended St. Joseph’s School and graduated from York High School in 1976. He was a long-time employee of Sundstrand and was a member of York Elks #1024. Mike enjoyed fishing, football and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his son Michael Ryan Jr. of Thayer; daughters, Mary Ryan of York and Katie Ryan of Thayer; granddaughter Courtney Ryan of York; brothers, John and his wife Dorothy Ryan of Phillips, NE and Melvin Ryan Jr. of Weston, NE; sisters, Maureen and her husband James Engert of Sidney, NE, Phyllis and her husband Robert Brutus of Union, NE, Barbara and her husband Steven Swartz of Omaha, Patricia Ryan of Kenney Lakes, AK, Kathleen Ryan of Papillion and Ella Joan Ryan of Papillion; sister-in-law Carol Ryan of Lincoln. Also surviving are many aunts, uncles, friends and special friends Herb & Megan Ackerman & family of Thayer. Preceding him in death were his parents, step-father Robert James, brother Thomas Ryan and step-brother Rodney James.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Monday at the Metz Chapel in York with the Reverend Leo Seiker officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery near York.
