David Rutten
David C. Rutten, age 57, of York, NE, died Wednesday, March 19, 2008 at York. He was born July 24, 1950 at St. Edward, NE to Charles “Chic” and Ernie (Zillinger) Rutten. He graduated from Cedar Rapids High School in Cedar Rapids, NE and attended Metro Tech School in Omaha. He was united in marriage to Carman Dickerson on March 19, 1976. David was a maintenance technician at Vishay-Dale Electronics in York and Columbus for 31 years and was currently employed at EPCO in York. He was a member of the York Eagles Club, the American Hunting Association and the NRA. He also enjoyed the outdoors and turtle hunting.
He is survived by his wife Carman of York; sons, Chad Rutten and Cory Engert of York; daughters, Tonia Rutten and her friend Mike Belleci of York, Michelle Rutten and Leger Lamonde of McCool Jct, NE and Dawn (Adam) Stutzman of McCool Jct.; his mother, Ernie Rutten of Cedar Rapids; brothers, Sam (Janet) Rutten, Ben Rutten, Jay (Sylvia) Rutten all of Cedar Rapids; and sister, Kim (Dan) Schilousky also of Cedar Rapids. Also surviving are ten grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends and extended family.
Preceding him in death were his father, nephew Toma Rutten, and his parents-in-law, Earl and Elsie Dickerson.
Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, March 24, 2008 at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in York with the Reverend Tim Marshall officiating. Graveside services were held on Tuesday, March 25, at 2:00 p.m. at the Sunrise Cemetery in Cedar Rapids, NE. Memorials may be directed to the family.
