Darrel Ronne

Darrel L. Ronne, age 89 of York, died Monday, February 28, 2005 at Exeter. He was born December 8, 1915 at Lushton to Carey and Mabel (Gross) Ronne. Darrel was a 1933 graduate of McCool High School. He was married to Mary L. Hall at York on December 26, 1936 and they lived and farmed at Lushton for many years, retiring to York in 1976. Darrel was the longtime president and board member of the York County Farmers Mutual Ins. Co. and was a former member of the McCool School Board and McCool Fire Board. He is survived by 2 daughters; Beverly and her husband Ted Perry of Hesston, KS and Sharlene and her husband Kenneth Ellis of Waverly; his son Dennis and his wife Carolyn Ronne of Scottsbluff; daughter-in-law Ruth Ann Ronne of Lincoln; 12 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren; his brother Wayne Ronne of Fairmont and many nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his wife, parents, son Mervin and brothers Wade & Dwight.

Funeral services will be held on Friday at 10:30 am at the First United Methodist Church at York with the Rev. Jeff Wulf officiating. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery at York. Memorials may be directed to the family or the donor’s favorite charity. Visitation will begin at 1:00 pm Wednesday.
