Rollen Roehrs

Rollen W. Roehrs age 63 of York, NE formerly of Hampton, NE died Saturday, September 23, 2006 at York. He was born October 13, 1942 at York to Dr Walter and Emma A. (Dose) Roehrs. Rollen was a longtime Hampton area farmer. After his retirement he worked for several years for York County. He was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church at Hampton where he served on the Church Council and sang in the choir. Rollen was a member of the Hampton Fire and Rescue Department and the Hampton American Legion Post #141. He was formerly a member of the Hampton School Board, the Hampton Co-op and enjoyed woodworking. On November 25, 1962 he was married to Carolyn K. Maronde at York.

He is survived by two sons, Todd and his wife Mary Roehrs of Hampton and Troy and his wife Tammy Roehrs of Blair, NE; One daughter Michele and her husband Craig Van Housen of Hampton; and his grandchildren include Brandi, Ashley and Cami Roehrs all of Hampton, Amber and Erika Roehrs of Blair, NE and Taylor, Gavin and Madison VanHousen of Hampton. Also surviving is a sister Joyce and her husband Dr. Duane Smith of Sioux Falls, S.D. and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.

Funeral services were held September 26, 2006 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Hampton with the Reverend Loren Cooper officiating. Burial was in the Zion Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Zion Lutheran Church at Hampton, the Hampton Lutheran School or to the donor’s choice.
