Gladys Rinehart

Gladys R. Rinehart, age 90 of York, NE, died Sunday, October 1, 2006 in York. She was born April 20, 1916 to George Washington and Anna Rosalie (Strauss) Cotner in rural York County. Gladys was united in marriage to Mervyn Gail Rinehart on October 2, 1946 in Belleville, KS. She was a housekeeper at the Hearthstone for 10 years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in York and was a member of the VFW Auxiliary #1609, York.

Gladys is survived by her son David G. Rinehart of Columbus, NE; grandchildren: Judy (Daryl) Grennan of Byron, IL, Sheri Jordan of Gresham, NE, Katherine (Derek) Gassmann of Oklahoma City, OK, and David James Rinehart of York; and great-grandchildren: Caleb and Carson Grennan, Austin and McCauley Jordan, and Bailey, Winton, Hunter, and Andrew Gassman. She is also survived by her sister Edna Vincent of York and many nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were here parents, five brothers: Emory, Burrel, Raymond, Amzie, and Arthur, four sisters: Emma, Elsie, Blanche, and Lucile; one grandson Timothy; and one great-grandson Brendon.

Funeral services were held Thursday, October 5, 2006 at the Metz Chapel in York with the Reverend Jeff Wulf officiating. Interment was held in the Greenwood Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the First United Methodist Church in York.
