Evelyn Richert

Evelyn Bernice Richert age 79 of York, NE formerly of Thayer died Tuesday, February 19, 2008 at York. She was born March 13, 1928 in Douglas, OK to John Henry and Anna Marie (Schumacher) Rabe. Evelyn graduated from Covington High School in Oklahoma on May 16, 1945 and was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church at Thayer. Evelyn worked at the telephone company in Enid, OK before moving to York. On October 26, 1958 she was married to Gerhard Richert in Enid. After her marriage they moved to Thayer living there from 1958 to 1964. They then moved to York where she was employed at the York General Hospital for over 31 years retiring on July 27, 2001.

She is survived by a nephew John and his wife Doris Stoll of Gentryville, Indiana, three nieces Esther and her husband J.R. Leachman of Enid OK and Georgene Tah of Enid, OK and Kathleen and her husband Steven Flowers of Mooreland, IN. Two brothers in law Paul and his wife Kate Richert of Richmond, IN, Herbert Richert of York. Two sisters in law Gertrude Bredehoft of York and Esther and her husband Bob Ponte of Lincoln. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four brothers and three sisters.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday February 21, 2008 at the Zion Lutheran Church at Thayer with the Rev Lee Seetin officiating. Burial was in the Zion Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to her family.
