Max B. Rhodes

Max B. Rhodes, age 61 of York, died Monday, August 9, 2004 at York. He was born March 22, 1943 at Osceola, NE to Dale and Margaret (Bond) Rhodes. Max was a 1961 graduate of Gresham High School and worked for the Farmers Co-Op for several years before joining Lincoln Telephone & Telegraph in 1964. He traveled all over central Nebraska as a cable splicer and retired Alltel in June of 2001. He married Jane Nuttelman at Gresham on December 26, 1964. Max was a member of Faith Lutheran Church at York and the Telephone Pioneers.

Survivors include his wife Jane of York; daughters Jodi (Greg) Harcrow and Jeannie (Scott) Linder all of York; grandchildren, Madison, Marissa, Justin and Heather Harcrow & Mason, Alexis and Zane Linder. Also surviving are his mother Margaret Rhodes of Gresham; 2 brothers, Rex of Omaha and Jerry (Judy) of Gresham; 3 sisters, Evelyn Troxler of Gulliver, MI, Myra Rhodes of Garden Grove, CA and Dixie Rhodes of York; sister-in-law Shirley Rhodes of Gresham and many nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his father, brother Robert and sisters Donna & Jean.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 12, 2004 at 10:30 am at the Faith Lutheran Church in York with the Rev. Art Schauer officiating. Burial will be in the St. Peter’s Lutheran Cemetery at Gresham. Memorials may be directed to the family.
