Margaret Rhodes

Margaret E. Rhodes age 96 of Gresham, NE died Wednesday, January 10, 2007 at York. She was born November 3, 1910 in rural Gresham, NE to John and Elsie (Richards) Bond. Margaret was a 1928 graduate of Gresham High School and was married to Dale S. Rhodes on October 12, 1929 in York, NE. She worked at the Ideal Café and the Hearthstone in York and attended the Presbyterian Church in Gresham. She was a member of the Gresham American Legion Auxiliary, Rebecca Lodge and enjoyed quilting and gardening.

She is survived by two sons, Rex Rhodes of Omaha and Jerry and his wife Judy Rhodes of Gresham; three daughters Evelyn Troxler of Gresham, Myra Rhodes of Garden Grove, CA and Dixie Rhodes of York; daughters-in-law, Shirley Rhodes of Gresham and Jane Rhodes of York; 14 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; one great great-grandchild and three step great-grandchildren Also surviving is a sister Zella Powell of Gresham and a sister in law Phyllis Dey of Gresham. Preceding her in death were her parents; husband; children, Donna Mae, Jean Joan, Robert Dale and Max Bond; one grandson; one granddaughter; one great-grandson and one great great-grandson.

Funeral services were held Saturday, January 13, 2007 at the Presbyterian Church in Gresham with the Reverend Noel DeKalb officiating with burial in the Cedar Lawn Cemetery at Gresham. Memorials may be directed to the family.
