Frances Rehrs

Frances Marie Heiden Klute Rehrs, age 94 of York, Nebraska, died Thursday, May 27, 2010 at York, NE. She was born at home on July 5, 1915 in Hamilton County, Nebraska to Gustav and Wilhelmena (Rau) Heiden. Frances was baptized on August 8, 1915 at Zion Lutheran Church, Hampton, Nebraska by Rev. Brommer. She was confirmed on May 5, 1929 at Zion Hampton by Rev. Degner. She attended Zion Lutheran Parochial School through 8th grade.

Frances was married to Elmer Klute on March 28, 1938 at Zion Lutheran by Rev. Degner. She was a homemaker and mother of three children: James, Stanley, and Lois. The family moved to York in 1944 and joined Emmanuel Lutheran Church. Frances was a faithful member until her death. After 31 years of marriage, her husband Elmer died on March 13, 1968. Frances married Lester Rehrs on February 23, 1972 and after 19 years of marriage, he died in September 1992.

She leaves to mourn: her children James and Karen Klute of York, Stan and June Klute of York, and Lois Curren of Lincoln, NE; five grandchildren: Sarah Graff, Kent Klute, Brian Klute, Doug Klute, and Jeff Klute and their families; step-grandchildren Wendy Kotas and Derek Nicholson and their families; ten great-grandchildren; four step great-grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren; one sister Irene Mundt of Stromsburg, NE; many nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, two sisters, one brother and their spouses, and one brother-in-law.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 am, Tuesday, June 1, 2010 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in York with the Reverend Mike Neidow officiating. Burial followed in Greenwood Cemetery, York. Memorials may be directed to Emmanuel Lutheran School or The Living Water Rescue Mission.
