Nelda Regier

Nelda Regier, age 71, of Hampton, NE, died Thursday, March 18, 2010 at Lincoln. She was born December 23, 1938 in Hillsboro, KS to Jacob and Susan (Kliewer) Hodel. Nelda accepted Christ as a young girl and was baptized at the Mennonite Brethren Church in Hillsboro. She was united in marriage to Michael Regier on December 27, 1958 at Hillsboro. This union was blessed with four children, Jody, Denise, Marc, and Nikki.

Nelda worked in the offices of health care facilities in York, NE (Bell Clinic), Denver, CO, Midland, TX, and Aurora, NE. She was a member of the Mennonite Brethren Church in Henderson. Gardening, sewing, ceramics, painting, knitting, stained glass creations and crocheting were just a few of her interests. She especially enjoyed holiday family gatherings because it gave her a chance to try out new recipes she was always collecting. Her primary focus though was loving and taking care of her family.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 51 years, Michael of Hampton; children, Jody Regier and his son Cortlan of Stockham, NE, Denise Vanosdall, husband Marvin and their three children Audrey, Leesha, and Courtney of Omaha, NE, Marc Regier, wife Carrie and their children, Cooper, and Hudson of Hampton, NE, and Nikki Goertzen, husband Cayle and their children Anneliese, and Rosalie of Belleville, KS. Also surviving are two brothers, Dwight Hodel and his wife Adrienne of Dallas, TX, and Richard Hodel and his wife Beverly also of Dallas. Nelda also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, March 23, 2010 at the Mennonite Brethren Church in Henderson with the Reverend J. Epp officiating. Burial followed in the MB Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the MB Back Pack Food Program or the MB Deacon Fund.
