Mary Ann Regier

Mary Ann Regier age 77 of Henderson, NE died Sunday, July 8, 2007 at Henderson. She was born on June 17, 1930 to John J. & Elizabeth (Quiring) Ediger. She was raised in the Hampton area and attended school until she graduated in 1948. She met and was later married to Arthur Regier of Hampton on March 24, 1950. Mary Ann and Art raised two children, Steve and Deb. They farmed for many years and Mary Ann also worked for the ASC office in Aurora and later worked for the State of Nebraska at NCW where she retired. Mary Ann and Art later moved to Henderson to enjoy their retirement and watch their grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow. Mary Ann loved having them over to play because they always shared their pretend baked foods with her. Mary Ann accepted Jesus Christ as her savior at a young age and continued her devotion to the Lord for her entire life. She was a member of the Henderson Mennonite Brethren Church for many years where she and Art would attend Sunday services. She loved to listen to the music and was always able to take the message from every service and apply it to her life. Mary Ann firmly believed in the power of prayer and often told her family to just listen, God would answer. She was deeply devoted too and loved the Lord and her family. She loved to read and crochet, read her Bible and listened to gospel music. Mary Ann loved to laugh and was always ready to share a good story with anyone about her life and her family. She was most happy when the whole family was able to get together for a meal and just have fun.

Mary Ann is survived by her husband Arthur Regier of Henderson, her son Steven D. Regier of Utah, her daughter Debra L. and her husband Scott Shepherd of Hampton, three grandchildren, Jade and her husband Andrew Gordon of Utah, Jayson Shepherd and his wife Christina of York, Kerrie Shepherd of Lincoln, five great-grandchildren, Sierra, Brook and Alec Gordon of Utah and Destiny Lynn and Atley Marie Shepherd of York, three brothers John Ediger and his wife Joan of Aurora, Larry Ediger and his wife Joyce also of Aurora, Donald “Jim” Ediger and his wife Lois of Lincoln, one sister Janice and her husband Bob Simonson of Omaha Also surviving is a sister-in-law Esther Ediger of Hampton, bother-in-law Rich Regier and his wife Ardith of Henderson, numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Preceding her in death were her parents, two brothers Ed and Ben, sister Lillian Winters and two grandsons Daniel James and Christopher Jordan Shepherd.

Funeral services were held Thursday, July 12, 2007 at the MB church in Henderson. Interment was at the MB Cemetery north of Henderson. Memorials may be directed to the family for later designation.
