Margaret Ratliff

Margaret E. Ratliff age 84, of York, died Wednesday, July 6, 2005 at York. She was born December 28, 1920 at Pueblo, CO. to John and Sarah (Pence) Davis. She was a York High School graduate and before retirement worked as a secretary in several places in the York area. She was a secretary at the Fairmont Airbase, Henderson Manufacturing, The Nebraska Center for Women and served as secretary to the Clerk of the District Court in York from 1960-1968. She was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in York, the York Navy Mothers and York Home Extension Clubs. She played the violin and taught herself to play the piano. She enjoyed painting, needlework, tennis, ice skating and listening to classical music. Margaret was married to Raymond E. Ratliff on December 9, 1945 at York. She is survived by a daughter Diane Sundermeier of Unadilla, NE; two sons, John (Ramona) Ratliff of York and Jeff Ratliff of York; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death are her parents, husband, and a brother, Glenn.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Monday, July 11, 2005 at the York College Prayer Chapel in York. Burial will be in York’s Greenwood Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Alzheimers Association. Visitation will begin Sunday at 1:00pm at Metz Mortuary with family to greet friends and neighbors from 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm.
