Richard H. "Dick" Rasmussen

Richard H. “Dick” Rasmussen age 75 of York, NE., died Friday, October 29, 2004 in Lincoln. He was born January 15, 1929 in York to Pete and Gladys (Gillan) Rasmussen and graduated from York High School in 1947. He attended York College. Dick was employed by Geis Motors and Scott Hourigan Company here in York. Dick was a member of the East Avenue United Methodist Church and served 15 years on the York Housing Authority Board. On March 3, 1949 he was married to LaVon Schwab at Council Bluffs, IA.

He is survived by his wife LaVon of York, daughter Linda (Bruce) Weber and son Scott (Roxane) Rasmussen of Lincoln. Grandchildren: Tara Weber and Megan Weber both of Lincoln, Tayna Rasmussen of Overland Park, KS and Randi Rasmussen of Lincoln. Also surviving is his mother-in-law Edna Schwab of York, Mary (Jim) Urbach of Sioux City, IA., Delores Townsend of York; cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Don Rasmussen.

Funeral services were Tuesday November 2, 2004 at the Metz Chapel with the Rev. Michael Laing officiating. Burial was in York’s Greenwood Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family.
