Inez Quiring

Inez L. (Reetz) Quiring age 82 of Henderson, NE died Thursday, April 24, 2008 at Henderson. She was born July 21, 1925 at Wisner, NE to Carl and Hattie (Leudtke) Steinmeyer and was an active member of Bethesda Mennonite Church in Henderson. Inez was a longtime Henderson area cook including the Henderson Nursing Home in her later years. She enjoyed going out for coffee, flowers and gardening, church activities, crossword puzzles, cooking for family and friends and traveling. On March 28, 1948 she was married to Victor Reetz at Wisner. Then on April 17, 1977 she was married to Herman Quiring at Staplehurst, NE.

She is survived by her husband Herman of Henderson, three sons, Dale O and his wife Barb Reetz of Henderson, Keith and his wife Jennifer Reetz of Alta, IA and Lynn and Kimm Reetz of Lincoln. Two daughters Shirley and her husband Larry Thayer of Osmond, NE and Cindy and her husband Charlie Quiring of Henderson. 12 Grandchildren 4 Great Grandchildren She is also survived by two brothers Arnold Steinmeyer of Rosalie, NE and Robert and his wife Kathy Steinmeyer of Wisner. One sister Helen and her husband Arlen Lierman of Beamer, NE and a brother-in-law Bud Hienemann of West Point, NE. She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, two infant daughters Verna and Merna, four sisters and a son-in-law Jim Thayer.

Graveside services were held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, April 28, 2008 at the Bethesda Cemetery with the Reverends Weldon Martens and Rachel Friesen officiating. Memorial services followed at 2:00 p.m. at the Bethesda Mennonite Church in Henderson. Memorials may be directed to the family or to the Bethesda Mennonite Church.
