Elfriede Popp

Elfriede Popp age 77 of York, Nebraska died Thursday, March 24, 2005 at York.

She was born February 11, 1928 in Gosenbach, Germany to Arthur and Helena (Muller) Henss. Elfriede was a member of the German Church of God in York and the American Council for the Blind. She was formerly employed for many years at the York Christian Unity Press. Elfriede was also a partner with her husband in their piano tuning business.

On February 20, 1965 she was married to Lowell H. Popp in York. She is survived by her husband Lowell of York, one son Arthur and his wife Lisa Popp of Clarks Summit, PA. Two Grandchildren Blake Popp and Natalie Popp both of Clarks Summit, PA. Two brothers, Rudolf and his wife Ingrid Henss and Werner and his wife Waltraud Henss both of Germany. One sister, Brigitte and her husband Hans Flick also of Germany. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, March 29, 2005 at the Metz Chapel with the Reverend Makus officiating with burial in York’s Greenwood Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the donor’s choice. Visitation begins after 9:00 a.m., Monday at the mortuary.
