John and Sara shared a good sense of humor. They enjoyed having company in their home and visitors were always welcome. John died on April 18, 1983.
Sara was a good homemaker and helped John with farming for many years. Shortly after their marriage they moved to California in search of work. John worked in the orchards while Sara cleaned and cooked at different jobs. Dorothy and Carolyn were born in California. In 1948 they moved back to Nebraska to farm.
