Milas Peterson

Milas E. Peterson age 79 of York, NE died Saturday, April 01, 2006 at York. She was born March 10, 1927 at Stromsburg to Hans and Ruth (Carlson) Nielsen. Milas was formerly employed at Trixie Manufacturing in York for many years. She went on to work part time at Amigo’s during weeknights and the Flying ‘V’ Ballroom at Utica on the weekends while also working at Dale Electronics in York full time. She was a member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in York. She loved her cat, playing cards, bingo and was an avid ballroom dancer. She enjoyed socializing with all her friends and meeting new ones. On June 22, 1947 she was married to Leland Peterson at Stromsburg, NE. She is survived by two sons, Rolland Peterson and Kelvin and his wife Joyce Peterson all of York; one daughter, Mileen and her husband Bruce Bastian of Omaha; two grandchildren, Angela Peterson of York and Roger and his wife Dianna Peterson of Bellevue, NE; two brothers, Morris and his wife Jerlene Nielsen of Stromsburg and Clarence and his wife Betty Nielsen also of Stromsburg; two sisters, Marjorie and her husband Armand Schmoker of Osceola, NE and Phyllis and her husband Richard Fusby of Kearney. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one sister Marian Obermier.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, April 4, 2006 at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in York with the Reverend Harlan Heier and LeRoy Hoyer officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery at York. Memorials may be directed to the family.
