Betty Peterson

Betty M. Peterson, age 87, of York, NE, died Thursday, October 23, 2008 in York. She was born on December 13, 1920 at David City, NE to Heman and Adele (Stearns) Wert. She was a 1939 graduate of David City High School and was united in marriage to LaVerne “Pete” Peterson on September 11, 1940 in David City. Betty work several places in York including Jay’s Men’s Wear, Roger’s Shoe Co. and Howard’s Shoes. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in York

She is survived by her sons, Robert Peterson of Phoenix, AZ and Donald (Kris) Peterson of Lincoln, NE; grandchildren, Greg (Melissa) Peterson of Highlands Ranch, CO and Jen (Matt) Dageforde of Lincoln; four great-grandchildren and a brother, John (Elaine) Wert of Lincoln. Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, brother Alan, sister Marjorie Barker and daughter-in-law Sally Peterson.

Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 27, 2008 at the Metz Chapel in York with the Reverend Art Phillips officiating. Graveside services were at 1:30 p.m. Monday in the David City Cemetery, David City, NE. Memorials may be directed to Tabitha Hospice, the First United Methodist Church, York, NE or the York General Hearthstone.
