Marie Peters

Marie Esther Friesen Peters, was born September 4, 1909, the second child of Thomas H and Katherine Klippenstein Friesen, at Litchfield, Nebraska. She passed away on November 27, 2008. She married Alfred H. Peters on October 20, 1929. They had four children. She was a lifelong member of the Bethedsa Mennonite Church.

She is survived by four children & their spouses; Darlene (Walt) Goosen, of Henderson, Virgil (Jennie) Peters, of Mt. Angel, Oregon, Alvin (Nadine) Peters, of Hampton, and Lois (Jim) Brubacher, of Walton, Kansas; 16 grandchildren, and 27 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by three siblings; Kenneth Friesen, of San Jose, California, Estaline Quiring, of Hillsboro, Kansas, and Doris Braun, of Aurora.

She was preceded in death by her husband Alfred, a grandson Gregg Alan Peters, sisters Helen, Nettie, Alma, and Fern; brothers John, George, LaVerne, Lloyd, Milton & Darold.

Funeral services were held at the Bethesda Mennonite Church on Thursday, December 4, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. Weldon Martens. Burial followed at the Bethesda Mennonite Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the MCC Meat Canner.
