Grace Peters

Grace J. Peters, age 89, of Stromsburg, former longtime York and Benedict resident, died Friday, November 03, 2006 at Osceola. She was born June 15, 1917 at Edison, NE to Emil and Elvenia (Herrick) Hablitzel. Grace was a longtime employee of Standard Brands in York and had been a waitress at the Ideal Café and Holland House both of York. She had been a member of the Zion Lutheran Church at Benedict. Grace was married to Dietrich Peters and he preceded her in death in 1983.

Survivors include her 4 children; Gladys & Jerry Pierce of Endicott, NE, Merdith & Harvey Schlegelmilch of Benedict, Marvin & Connie Hablitzel of Belgrade, MT and David & Karen Peters of York; step-daughter Patsey & Carrol Reutzel of Sutton; 13 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, 7 great-great grandchildren; 3 step grandchildren, 9 step great-grandchildren, 4 step great-great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Clara Erwin of York and Beulah & Homer Collingham of Lincoln. Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, grandson and step granddaughter.

Funeral services were held on November 6, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at the Metz Chapel in York with LeRoy Hoyer officiating. Burial was in the Greenwood Cemetery at York. Memorials may be directed to Parkinsons research.
