Goldie Peters
Goldie F. Peters age 83 of Henderson, NE died Monday, October 3, 2005 at Henderson.
She was born March 29, 1922 in York to Bernhard and Katie Abrahams (Friesen) Friesen and was an active member of the Bethesda Mennonite Church in Henderson.
Goldie was a longtime Henderson area cook having worked at the Henderson High School Cafeteria, at the Dells and the Dutch Kitchen.
Goldie enjoyed working crossword and jigsaw puzzles, quilting, baking and was an avid sports fan.
On November 26, 1943 she was married to Irwin E. Friesen. He passed away on December 8, 1973. Then she was married to Clarence E. Peters on January 5, 1981. He passed away on November 23, 1982.
She is survived by one son Rollyn Friesen of Lincoln and a daughter Chery and her husband Don Siebert of Henderson; two grandchildren, Shane Siebert and his fiancé Tina Menebroker both of Omaha and Bobbie and her husband Ryan Lebow of Lincoln; two brothers, Bill and his wife Margaret Friesen of Newton, KS and Elmer and his wife Bertha Friesen of Henderson; two sisters, Martha and her husband Raymond Friesen of Henderson and Nina and her husband Everett Heiser of Aurora and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands and an infant sister Alma.
Public Graveside services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Friday, October 7, 2005 at the Bethesda Mennonite Cemetery north of Henderson. A Memorial service will then be held at 3:00 P.M., Friday at the Bethesda Mennonite Church in Henderson. Visitation begins after 5:00 p.m., Wednesday evening at the mortuary in Henderson. Memorials may be directed to the Mennonite Disaster Services.
