Ruby Paneitz

Ruby Ann Paneitz, age 74 of York, NE, died Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at York. She was born September 26, 1934 at Stromsburg, NE to Henry Joseph and Grace Jessie (Covey) Smith. Ruby worked in the York area as a cook, collected antiques, and sold real estate. She is a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Hampton, the Ladies Aid and the Card Club also in Hampton. She enjoyed bowling and antiquing. Ruby Ann is survived by her daughter, Janet Paneitz of Omaha, NE; grandson, Michael Ross of Omaha; sisters: Maxine Peterson of York, Grace Emagene Quiring of Henderson and Mary Lou (Ardean) Kohtz of York. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews and her former husband, LaVern W. Paneitz.

Preceding her in death were her parents; sons: Duane Paneitz, Kenneth Paneitz and Michael Paneitz; daughter, Debra Paneitz; brothers: Albert Smith and Harland Smith; infant sister, Anna Mae Smith; sisters Evelyn Green and DeEtte Brand.

Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, June 1, 2009 at Zion Lutheran Church in Hampton with the Reverend Loren Cooper officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family.
