MARY OTTO
Mary M. Otto, age 89 of Grand Island, died Thursday, April 6, 2006 at Bickford Cottage in Grand Island. Mary was born on November 8, 1916 in rural Ulysses, NE to James P. and Clara (Reinders) Lambe. She was united in marriage to Malvin Otto on May 12, 1959 in Gering, NE.
Mary attended and graduated St. Ursula’s Catholic School in York. She then continued her education at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln earning her teaching degree. She taught school for 12 years at Superior, Millard, and Seward. She then became a homemaker and helped manage the family farm. Mary was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in York.
Mary is survived by one brother Robert (Nadine) Lambe of Grand Island; numerous nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law Ellen Lambe of Texas; Arlene Scheele of Waco, NE; and Jeanette (Lee) Foster of Gurley, NE; and all of her friends at Bickford Cottage in Grand Island. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Patrick, and sister Alice.
A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for 10:30 A.M. Monday, April 10, 2006 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in York with Father Leo Seiker officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in York. A Rosary will be said at 10:00 A.M. Monday, April 10, 2006 prior to the Mass. Visitation will be on Sunday, April 9, 2006 from 1:00-9:00 p.m. at the mortuary. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
