Gary Otoupal

Gary R. Otoupal age 70, of McCool Jct., NE, died Monday, February 16, 2009 at York, NE. He was born December 21, 1938 in York to George F. and Grace (Mohler) Otoupal. Gary was a graduate of St. Joseph’s High School in York and was united in marriage to Janice Rerucha on June 30, 1962. He was the owner of Otoupal Insurance Company in York and a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in McCool Jct. He was a member of the York Elk’s Lodge, enjoyed college football, antiques and spending time with his family.

Gary is survived by his wife Jan of McCool Jct.; son, Alan Otoupal and his wife Karrie of York; daughter, Kirs and her husband Michael Wertz of Omaha, NE; grandchildren, twins Emma and Jacob Wertz of Omaha and Benjamin and Emily Otoupal of York. Also surviving are three brothers, Stewart Otoupal and his wife Kathy of Carlsbad, NM, Miles and his wife Marilyn of Seattle, WA, Merritt and his wife Joyce of York, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceding him in death were his parents, sister-in-law Bonnie and stepmother Cozette.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, February 19, 2009 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in York. Burial was in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in York. A Rosary was held at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the mortuary. Memorials may be directed to the family for later designation.
