Salvatore Orlando

Salvatore Orlando, age 79 of York, died Monday, November 10, 2003 in Omaha. He was born in New York City on March 3, 1924 to Mariano and Nancy Orlando. Sal was a veteran of the Army Air Corps and served as a Medical Corpsman. He was married to Wanda Yvonne Cohagan in York on June 14, 1944. Sal was a longtime employee of the York Packing and was foreman of the rendering department. He was a 45-year member of the American Legion Bolton Post #19 of York.

He is survived by his wife Yvonne of York, daughter Wanda and her husband Jim Hoover of York, son Robert and his wife Deb Orlando of Bradshaw; 4 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; brother Anthony Orlando of Salem, NY. Preceding him in death were his parents, 2 sisters and 3 brothers.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 14th at 10:00 a.m. at the Metz Chapel in York with the Rev. Betsy Galloway-Carew. Burial will be in the Arborville Cemetery near Polk. Memorials may be directed to the family. Condolences may be emailed to metz@metzmortuary.com.
