Ruth Opitz

Ruth E. Opitz, age 99 of York, died Thursday, January 13, 2005 in York. She was born in McComb, Illinois on August 17, 1905 to Bert and Mary (Anderson) Clayton. Ruth was married to Edward Opitz on March 12, 1930 at York. She was a longtime member of East Avenue United Methodist Church in York. Ruth is survived by two daughters, Kathryn Kupke of Lincoln, NE. and Frances Opitz of Glendale, CA; granddaughters, Susan Kupke of Greeley CO, Lisa (Mike) Jeys of Las Vegas, NV and great-granddaughters, Rachel and Danielle Jeys of Las Vegas, NV. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one son, Dale.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, January 15, 2005 at the Metz Chapel. Burial was at Greenwood Cemetery, York, NE. Memorials may be directed to the East Avenue United Methodist Church or to the family.
