Dean Gregory Norquest age 82 of McCool Jct, NE died July, 3, 2009 at Lincoln, NE.
He was born December 1, 1926 at York, NE to Clarence Everett. and Agnus (Radecke) Norquest. Dean graduated from York High School in 1945 and farmed east of McCool Jct as D & G Norquest Farms Inc. On September 27, 1953 he was married to Grace E. Giebelman at Hampton, NE.
At 60 years old he completed a small engine repair certificate from Central Community College in Hastings which earned him a part time position working on small engines in York. Dean served was a member of and served in various positions at the First Lutheran Church in McCool Jct and enjoyed daily visits with coffee shop friends at the “Cave.”
He is survived by his two daughters, Diana Buchholz and her husband Greg of Lincoln, NE and Teresa Rudasill and her husband Irvine of Farmington, MO;
five grandchildren: Tracy Mahlberg of Lincoln, NE, Raymond Mahlberg IV and his wife Ashley of Bellington, WA, Kimberly Rudasill of St Louis, MO, Thomas and Riley Rudasill of Farmington, MO; three step-grandchildren, Melissa Buchholz in Germany, Jesse Buchholz of Castle Rock, CO and Tim Buchholz of Huntington, IN; and
five great step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents Everett and Agnes Norquest., his wife Grace, and his brother Clayton Norquest.
Funeral services are scheduled for 5:30 pm Monday, July 6, 2009 at the Metz Chapel in York with the Reverend David L. Nystrom officiating. Burial will be in York’s Greenwood Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family for later designation.
Family will greet friends from 4-6 p.m. on Sunday with public visitation continuing through 9 pm on Sunday and again on Monday until service time.
