EVELYN NORDMEYER

Evelyn J. Nordmeyer, age 82 of York, died Monday, June 27, 2005 at York. She was born on June 20, 1923 at Deshler, NE. to Ernst and Amolia (Jordan) Lange. She was a graduate of Garland High School, Garland, NE and attended the Lincoln School of Commerce. Evelyn and John D. Nordmeyer were married on December 9, 1945 at Garland. Evelyn was a member of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in York and for many years was a legal secretary in York. She was a member of the American Heart Association and the York Senior Center. She also assisted with Meals on Wheels and was an avid card player. She is survived by her sons, Roger (Carolyn Swanson) Nordmeyer of Dallas TX, Ronald (Elisa) Nordmeyer of Norristown, PA, Daniel Nordmeyer (Lesley) of Grand Junction, CO.; grandsons, John (Amy) Nordmeyer of Norfolk, VA, Robert (Jaimee Way) Nordmeyer of Grand Junction, CO., Gregory Nordmeyer of Norristown, PA.; great-grandsons, Alan & Joshua Nordmeyer of Norfolk, VA. and Jaleb Wiley of Grand Junction CO. and a great-granddaughter Savannah Wiley of Grand Junction, CO. She is also survived by one brother, Arnold Lange of Lincoln, NE. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister, Leona Beckmann and a brother Walter Lange.

Funeral services were Friday, July 1, 2005 at 1:30 p.m. at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in York. Interment was at York’s Greenwood Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Emmanuel Lutheran Church or to the American Heart Association or to the family.
