Erna Nienhueser

Erna M. Nienhueser, age 88, of York, died Monday, January 11, 2010 at York. She was born on December 16, 1921 at Benedict, NE to Frank and Amelia (Alms) Nienhueser. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church near York and later became a member of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in York. Erna was a member of the LWM, the Emmanuel Choir and the Dorcas Quilting Circle. She enjoyed quilting, crafts, gardening, and sewing. She was very artistic and enjoyed painting pictures.

Erna is survived by her sister-in-law, Dorothy Nienhueser of York and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Ernst, Amos, Erwin, and a sister, Leitha Prochnow.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 16, 2010 at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in York with the Reverend Mike Neidow officiating. Burial was in the St. Paul Cemetery, York, NE. Memorials may be directed to the donor’s choice.
